The AMAI (formerly the Aikido Institute) has provided behaviour support and enrichment programmes based on Aikido to over 7,000 school students through secondary and primary schools in the Sunshine Coast & North Brisbane region since 1992.
Over 2,000 students have benefitted from Aikido classes at the Palmwoods Dojo alone.
There are up to four classes available for Juniors each week:
Tuesday & Friday 4.30pm – 5.30pm
The AMAI is renowned for its junior programme. Thousands of young people have benefited from the opportunity to find themselves in this non-competitive and supportive environment.
The classes focus on building self confidence, composure, self discipline, concentration, resilience, a cooperative spirit, general fitness and wellbeing.
Gradings are available only to the intermediate group and these are by invitation biannually. The highest grade available to Juniors is 1st Kyu.
Please note, no junior / teen classes are held on Public Holiday, Student Free Days (as listed by Education Qld) or during regular school holidays.
