Organisation Profile

The AMAI was founded as a full time traditional martial arts organisation in 1992. Its memberships include the Aikido Yoshinkai Foundation, the Sei Ryu Kai (Traditional Martial Ways of Japan) and the Martial Arts Industry Association.

Headquartered in Queensland, the AMAI currently represents the following arts:

Yoshinkan Aikido – unarmed self defence
Shinto Muso Ryu Aiki - unarmed self defence
Shinto Ryu Iaijutsu - sword drawing / cutting
Shinto Ryu Kenjutsu - sword arts
Uchida Ryu Tanjojutsu - short stick arts
Ikkaku Ryu Juttejutsu - truncheon arts

Types of Membership

Individual Membership – available to any individual on application

Associate Membership – available to any Dojo or Group on application

Affiliated Membership – available to any Dojo or Group on application

Certified Membership -available to any Dojo or Group on application
Executive Membership – available after 3 years Certified Membership

Membership Fees

Individual Membership – $20 p.a.

Associate Membership – $150 p.a. ($3 per week)

Affiliated Membership – $350 p.a. ($6.70 per week)

Certified Membership - $450 p.a. ($8.65 per week)

Executive Membership - $650 p.a. ($12.50 per week)
